Abstract:
Risk Management is a critical component of any discussion, be it quality, management, or leadership in general. The tragedy is that all too many managers don't see the inextricable link between how we manage risk and how we're perceived as quality managers. In this presentation, Carl Pritchard, a lead chapter author of the Risk Management for the PMI Project Management Common Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), leads the charge in examining how we can more effectively get others to carry our risk "banner" and buy into the concerns we have about quality process, practice and outcomes.
Come to this meeting and learn from an industry recognized subject matter expert, the way risk management can be used in conjunction with any SDLC such as waterfall, Agile or spiral or in an operational environment for your organization.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to: 1) Express risk as comprehensive statements, understood by others 2) Establish risk tolerances that enable others to clearly know when and where risks can be accepted or must be avoided 3) Create a sense of risk community by establishing common areas of concern
Note: Attendees receive PDUs to use for recertification credits at PMI, QAI, ASQ, ISC2, ISACA, IEEE or ISTQB.

When hosting a QAAM meeting we provide an informational overview of your company in our monthly meeting notices that include a distribution that averages to well over 300 people.
In addition to the recognition you will receive in the meeting announcement, QAAM provides an opportunity to hosting organizations to speak to the meeting participants and to share a brief summary of your organization's experiences, and or initiatives in the quality arena. QAAM can also provide a place for you to supply attendees with marketing and/or informational materials about your product/business.
And finally, as a token of our appreciation, host organizations are formally recognized by QAAM for their generosity and support by being presented with a framed certificate of appreciation. These certificates are very effective for showing your organization's commitment to quality to your employees and clientele.
