Abstract:
Risk Management is a critical component of any discussion, be it quality, management, or leadership in general. The tragedy is that all too many managers don't see the inextricable link between how we manage risk and how we're perceived as quality managers. In this presentation, Carl Pritchard, a lead chapter author of the Risk Management for the PMI Project Management Common Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), leads the charge in examining how we can more effectively get others to carry our risk "banner" and buy into the concerns we have about quality process, practice and outcomes.
Come to this meeting and learn from an industry recognized subject matter expert, the way risk management can be used in conjunction with any SDLC such as waterfall, Agile or spiral or in an operational environment for your organization.

Speaker Biography:
Carl Pritchard, PMP, PMI-RMP, EVP is the principal of Pritchard Management Associates—a project management training and consulting firm based in the greater Washington, D.C. area. He is the lead chapter author for the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, 4th Edition, risk management chapter, and the author of seven texts in project management.
He is the U.S. Correspondent for the British project management magazine, Project Manager Today, and is a senior consultant with the Cutter Consortium. He serves on the board of directors for ProjectConnections.com and has lectured on management topics around the globe. He is a regular speaker on the Project Management Institute’s Seminars World series and was the architect of ESI International’s landmark e-learning programs in project management. Carl also teaches PMP preparation courses that have helped many people pass the exam the first time. He resides with his wife Nancy in Frederick, Maryland.

From the East (BWI Airport)/Annapolis): Exit the airport onto 195 west and follow to I-95 south. From I-95 South exit onto exit number 41, Route 175/Columbia/Jessup. From Route 50: Follow Route 50 west to I-97 north. Follow I-97 north to 32 west/Columbia. Follow 32 west to Route 29 North. Follow Route 29 to Route 175 east towards Jessup. At the first traffic light merge right onto Thunder Hill Road. Stay in the right lane and make the first right onto Twin Knolls Road. We are the fifth driveway on the right.
From the West (Frederick): Take Route 70 east/to Route 29 south towards Washington D.C./Columbia. Follow Route 29 to Route 175 east towards Jessup.
